iTunes 8.2 (b7) pre-release crashes

Updated

An upgrade to b10 solved my problems!

I have run into a bit of a problem with iTunes 8.2 pre-release. It keeps crashing just a few seconds after startup with a EXC_BAD_ACCESS exception. I googled for answers but the only possible solution I could find was to repair disk permissions which didn’t help. If you have seen this problem and found a solution, please send me a comment or e-mail. I will update this post if I find the source of the problem.

Did you ever figure out what the crashing was from – I am having the same issue.

Unfortunately, no, I still have the crashes.

I have a similar (if not the same) problem. iTunes crashes whenever I refresh my podcasts. I have disabled podcasts and the problem goes away for the most part. I’m updating my podcasts directly on the iPhone instead of through iTunes. Also, I noted that if you delete your iTunes .plist file the problem goes away for awhile, but then comes back.

    Bob,

Even if you update to b10?

I’m having the same exact problem. I tried to download 8.1 but because 8.2 created my iTunes library, it won’t read it with the previous version. God knows how many times I’ve sent error reports to Apple and I have no idea if they are even working to resolve the issue but in the meantime I can’t update my iPod nor listen to music on my computer. It’s very frustrating.
